The short version

ToolsTray is a collection of small web tools. Many run entirely in your browser, and each tool's page states how that tool handles your data — that per-tool note is the authoritative statement. Today you don't need an account to use the tools. We use a few standard third-party services for analytics and advertising, described below.

What the tools do with your input

Every tool page shows a badge describing how that tool handles data. Tools labelledon-device do their work in your browser and don't send your input to us. Some tools may instead rely on a server or a third-party service — where they do, the badge and the tool's page say so. As the catalog grows, check the badge on the tool you're using: it is the source of truth, not any site-wide claim.

What we keep on your device

Because the tools run in your browser, some things are stored there rather than on a server. Two kinds: downloads — AI models and the engines that run them, fetched once and reused so a tool works offline and starts fast — and your own data, such as files a tool kept so a tab can restore, saved notes, API-client collections, favourites, and each tool's remembered settings. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

The storage page lists all of it, with a size for each item and a button to remove it. Downloads you haven't used for a while are removed automatically — 30 days by default, changeable per tool or switched off entirely on that page — and a download whose model we have since replaced is removed without asking, since those bytes are dead. Your own data is never removed automatically; clearing it is always your choice, and it cannot be recovered afterwards.

The browser extension

The API Client offers an optional browser extension so it can send requests a page is not allowed to send. It is not required to use the tool, and installing it does not change what the rest of the site does.

The extension collects nothing and sends us nothing. It has no analytics, no remote code, and no server of its own. It holds no site permissions when you install it: the first time a request needs an address, it asks you for that one address, and you can withdraw any of them from your browser's extensions page at any time.

What it does with a request is exactly what you asked for — it sends it to the address you typed, from your own machine, and hands the reply back to the tool page. Request and response contents, including any credentials you put in them, stay between your browser and the server you named. They are never stored by the extension, and they never reach us.

The API Client can also send through a proxy you run yourself, which is a separate choice you make in the tool's settings. If you use one, your requests pass through that server, and what it does with them is governed by whoever runs it — that is you, not us. We host no proxy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used and how the site performs, in aggregate. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages visited, approximate location, device, and referrer. We use this to improve the site, not to identify you. SeeGoogle's Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, ToolsTray starts every visit with advertising and analytics consent set to denied. That default is applied in the page itself, before any advertising or analytics call is allowed to run, and it is scoped to those regions by country code. Ad data redaction is on at the same time, so no advertising cookie or identifier is set while consent stands at denied.

The consent choice itself is collected by a Google-certified consent management platform, delivered by Google's own advertising tag rather than by a separate script on this site. Where it applies you will see its banner on your first visit, and you can reopen it later to change or withdraw your choice. If the banner has not appeared, nothing has been permitted: the denied default stays in force until a choice is recorded. Outside those regions no banner is shown.

Children

ToolsTray is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
